Attorney Profiles

Sharlene Y. Escalera focuses her practice on commercial litigation, plaintiff-side class action, and securities arbitration and litigation.  She is licensed to practice in Florida.

Before joining DKR as an Associate, Ms. Escalera was a law clerk with the firm.  Prior to that, she clerked at Downs Brill Whitehead in 2006, where she performed substantive legal research and drafted memoranda.

At the University of Miami School of Law, Ms. Escalera was an active student leader.  She was the president of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society, a member of the Honor Council, and Co-Chair of the Ambassador Program.  Ms. Escalera was named in Who's Who in America 's Colleges and Universities in 2008.  She was also a member of the University of Miami International and Comparative Law Review, where she authored an article on secured transactions and their international regulation.  

Ms. Escalera is a member of the Iron Arrow Honor Society, the highest honor attained at the University of Miami.

Currently, Ms. Escalera is a member of the Dade County Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Puerto Rican Bar Association of Florida.  DKR is a member of the Miami-Dade County Women's Chamber of Commerce.
